entertaining with style 190I was web surfing round the HomeGoods website this past week and it occurred to me that while you may stop in to check out the OpenHose Blog, you might not be all that familiar with some of the other interesting features of the website.

One of my favorite parts of the site is the section located right in the center of the homepage called “Customer Finds“.  It’s exactly that - little descriptive blurbs with photos that readers have sent in, sharing what all they have done with their new found treasures. (see that fabulous glass beverage server in the picture? That’s one of my very own customer finds from two summers ago, and I simply love it.)

Anyway. Where was I? Oh yes, being inspired.

Talk about inspiration! Some of these pictures show some incredible decorating ideas. (Hey! Maybe you should share a post and a photo of two…?) Even more helpfulis the fact that you can select a category (such as “dining”) to see customer finds within a certain specific topic, so if you’re working on, say, your kitchen, you can click on it. Check out this kitchen post and picture as an example. How cool is that?! It’s stunning, that’s what.

I am a firm believer in the phrase, “A picture is worth a thousand words” and this section of HomeGoods website does it really well, and with pictures and ideas from real homes. And, at a nice price too….Like HomeGoods says, it’s happiness everyone can afford.

1. I too consult the customer finds often. I have contributed to it too! It was fun displaying my fall coffee table with all Home Goods finds and taking a picture to submit.
Love your beverage server. I have one, but not nearly as elegant as that one.

4. Hi Dorothy,

Thanks for submitting a comment to Openhouse, the HomeGoods blog.

We understand that you have been trying to locate a kitchen valance. As an off price retailer, we make every effort to keep our prices low, and our costs down, so that we can pass these savings on to our customers. For this reason, we do not provide a service of tracking merchandise, In addition, we do not have the privilege of ordering specific merchandise from our vendors. To locate the valance, we suggest that you continue to check with the stores in your area directly. We would be happy to provide you with store locations in your area. If you would like a store list, please call our Customer Service Department directly at 1-800-888-0776.

Thank you,

Jessica

5. Hi Dorothy,
I have seen some draperies and valances on occasion at both Marshall’s and HomeGoods, but it is hit and miss. One of the reasons prices are so great at HomeGoods is that they seem to get overstock from some of the more expensive companies out there. Check out the stores near you to see what they have. Good luck!
