Do you have a favorite room in your home? I believe my favorite changes with the seasons. In the cold weather months I love my great room because of the warm colors and the fireplace. It’s my nesting room where I read, watch TV, gab with my husband, and generally enjoy staying snuggled in out of the cold.

In the Spring and Summer my kitchen becomes my favoritie room. It is bright with white cabinets and counter tops, and because of my love for colonial times I selected magnolia wallpaper for a couple of walls – definiitely a Springtime look.

Another corner of our kitchen holds this bench and our year round ornament tree. It provides a little extra seating, and the ornaments represent favorite places and memories. We also collect baskets and Williraye figures. The baskets for a homey feel, and Williraye – well just because it makes me laugh! (Click on the photo to see more.)

Finally, this wine tasting area provides additional space for visiting with good friends while entertaining in the kitichen – where everyone always seems to end up when they come to visit.

When we moved into this house I was concerned about how to decorate this large eat in kitchen. Once we divided the space visually with seating areas and decorative pieces, it has become a gathering place for family and friends that provides lots of seating and space to gab.
