flowersHere’s an easy way to dress up otherwise plain curtains.  We cut flowers out of acid-free printed paper, added a foam flower and button in the center, and a ribbon to the back as the stem, and sewed them all together.

Each flower is different, and all cut by hand so they are not all matchy-matchy.  Then we simply hung them along the rod with the curtain (see below - click to enlarge).

Then to extend the design, we used some of the same paper and made larger petals for complimentary room art in a frame.

You could do any design in this fashion and give a room its own sense of character.  Economical, easy and fun.  What’s not to love!  How have you dressed up plain windows?

2. Thanks Deb…although I should tell you I’m taking them down next week, but worry not…they’ll be repurpsed in the bonus room! I’m getting new darker curtains for my little early-riser.

3. So cute! I think I could definitely do something like that for a simple outdoor wedding. I can picture hundreds of them hanging from the trees!
