I hope you were able to take the “Stylescope” quiz on the HG Stylescope link above. Wasn’t it fun! Were you surprised at the results? Did it fit you to a “T”, or were you a little surprised? I guess I was a little of both. I tested out at “Earthy Casual”. Hmmm, let me give this some thought… (thinking…). OK, It fits me, because I’m always inspired by natures colors, patterns and textures when I decorate my house or others. And, natures (earthy) influence can be expressed in a wide range, in many styles I love,  from  traditional to contemporary.  So I had to make that connection to understand why I fell into the catagory.  Instead of feeling boxed in within a label, it was freeing to know, this encompasses a wide range of design styles that are casually inspired by the beauty and structure of nature. I hope you see your style this way as well. Don’t let the label limit you, but use it as a comfortable platform to explore and expand your design style.

Here are a  few highlights of what my “Earthy Casual” style revealed …

 ”I want to create a welcoming home where comfort and happiness flourishes (always). I appreciate the warmth and uniqueness of natural materials and handcrafted items (that’s true). I’m inspired by the forms and colors of nature (indeed). I love mixing textures and materials (absolutely). I’m grounded and solid, not flighty or frilly (no ruffles for me). I like lasting design and not just the lastest trend (a little black and white is OK). There’s more…  I value creativity, am stylish, fun loving, and an inspiration to others (that made my day!). Also I have a natural sense of drama and willing to take some design risks( watch out!). My home can be a happy and lively gathering place for friends (time to party). ”

 Sooo, what’s not to like!  I found the quiz to be very informative, accurate and a boost to the ego!

If you haven’t taken the quiz (relax, you won’t fail), give it a shot. You’ll be pleasantly surprised at how your style influences many aspects of your life from decorating, landscaping, entertaining, organizating, gift giving, even interacting with your friends and family. They all reflect your stylish personality.
