I guess I can’t fight it, fall is on its way. I was running through HomeGoods looking for a lamp and was stopped in my tracks by the fall dishware displays. I don’t know, maybe I’m just biased, but HomeGoods has the cutest seasonal dishware ever (agree ?). It’s eye candy for the dish loving soul.  I ooh’d and ahh’d,  grabbed my camera and clicked away. I thought you’d like to see some from my store. Yours might have some different sets, but all are adorable. (click on photos to enlarge)

Another thing I like, is that you don’t have to buy a whole set of dishes (which is hard to resist), you can buy piece-by-piece.  What a great way to add some stylish seasonal accents to your home (for next to nothing). I often pick up 2, 4, or more plates to display on plate stands in my house. Then on the holiday, I’ll use the display plates (washed first) to add to my table. I like to mix and (mis)match dishware, so I’ll add in the holiday dishes with my others for a casual but creative table. Sometimes I hang the dishes on the wall, replacing ones I use the rest of the year. This infuses some seasonal charm in a simple, changeable way.

I also like to pick up a few extra dishes (love the leaf shaped ones) and add some sliced  pumpkin bread, wrapped up in cellophane, tied with a  raffia  bow, to give a little autumn gift to someone special. I’d love it!

I know, it seems early to think of these things, but I’ve learned a lesson at HomeGoods the hard way…if you don’t get it when you see it… it’s gone!  So, I tried to resist, but a few darling dishes jumped into my cart somehow  :)  Just a heads-up from a consumate bargain shopper.

It’s hard to leave summer behind, but all of these  fabulous fall finds are aiming my attention to Autumn acceptance in an exciting way. ( BTW, I found my lamp as well, so I left,  HomeGoods Happy).

1. Aren’t they beautiful……
If we all only had huge homes with tons of cabinets so we could have more dishes….it would be so fun…but like you, I pick up a couple to
go with what I have.
A friend of mine has a whole set of Christmas china….wow!
Love the colors…I use mostly greens, purple, brown and russet for fall ….used too much yellow and orange in the 70’s and burnt out…plus I like everything to blend with what I have….My kids always wondered why I didn’t use red at Christmas….too harsh for me…now they are Mom’s, themselves, they can use all they want.

2. Hi Julie,

Yes, these dishes were great. That’s my problem as well. No cupboard space. But, I do love to add a few to display in my house, then I can still have them and use them with my other dishes. How great to have a whole set of holiday china. I bet they enjoy them. I try to bring in the holiday feel with the colors I use in my house just like you do. Then you don’t have to completely change out my linens, accent pieces, or room decor. It’s always nice to freshen up what you have though.

Love all your colors, they transition into fall beautifully!

3. Homegoods and TJMax my favorite and only stores that I shop at my family and friends call me Ms. TJ. I buy all my clothes, home furnishings,
baby items, mens clothing and perfumes whatever I need I find in both
stores or in Marshalls.
I would like to see more complete sets of dishes! I bought some jungle
dishes by Dano Farrucci but it didn’t have the bowls been looking for
some to match color but no luck yet will keep looking!
What ever state I’m visiting always check out the stores.

4. Hey Jackie,

I’m with you! If I can’t find it at HomeGoods, Max, or Marshalls, I quit looking. I won’t pay those high prices anywhere else…TOO spoiled I guess. I hope you find the dishes you’re looking for. If not, find some that blend well and mix and match, such a great look and adds some creativity and great style to your table.

Happy shopping!!!
