Last week I shared that the color turquoise is all the rage this year. This week I want to take you on a little international travel. You see besides using turquoise this year you can bring your European vacation home! Décoration is decorating in French!
Adding a little international flair to our homes can be so much fun! You might decide to carry a style throughout your home with small accent pieces, or simply focus on one or two rooms. Let’s take a look at what actually constitutes French décoration.
If you are looking for ideas to add French Country Decor to your kitchen, go over and check out Cottage Home Decorating by Denise. She has a wonderful post where she shares 10 Easy Home Decorating Ideas for French Decor. If you have roosters in your kitchen (ceramic not real) then you are already on your way to having a kitchen with a French Country theme.
For living room ideas check out: HGTV.com – French Living Room. I learned through my searching that a French Country Living Room will have oversized vases and pots, topiaries, fleur de lis, tapestries, oversized mirrors, and upholstered furniture.
If you would like to carry this theme throughout your home, you must go to: Basics of French Country Decorating – at About.com and check out French Country Prints at BHG.com. (I want to thank them for the photo above.)
Maybe you like to do your own investigating. I simply started by Googling – French Country Decorating. Have fun and don’t forget to let us know what you discover.
