It's my go-to place to relax, read and unwind at the end of every day. What’s your favorite part about planning a dinner party? Planning the menu and decorating the table and room to infuse ambiance and mood. If your decorating style were a song, what genre would it be? Soft, contemporary instrumentals. Something you might hear in a boutique hotel—calm, classic but with a little edge. Top 3 most important pieces of furniture. • A classic, neutral-colored, high-quality sofa. It will never date and never go out of style. • A beautiful well-designed chair. It’s functional sculpture in the room. • A comfortable bed with high quality linens. Without a good night’s sleep, nothing matters. What’s your favorite fallback for organizing a cluttered counter or closet? De-clutter first. Then store necessities in clear, stackable, plastic containers for quick visual access. You are Dr. Design. What is your best quick fix for a home emergency? Paint! It can cover a multitude of sins quickly with minimal effort and expense. What piece or room do you update every season? The living spaces. I keep anchor pieces of furniture the same, but change out accessories—pillows, flowers, nature elements, table books, dishes, area rugs and even some art. |
